Dose of Inspiration - Issue 121

🌿What would you do if you were inspired? - Issue 121 ⭐

Hello friends and family!

Happy May! Here we go, month 5, I am back and full of energy! I had a good break on the beautiful island of Kapas

(Add this gem to your list if you ever visit Malaysia, a tiny island but good for the soul)

.

A warm

hello and welcome

to the new subscribers. Thank you for joining us on this weekly adventure for a

Dose of Inspiration

and tips to

Create A Life You Love and Go Live It

The theme of this week is "Heal yourself".

Last week I got to spend a few days by myself, I purposely avoided people to be in silence and to observe my thoughts. Like silent meditation but more floating in the ocean. I realized how often I am responding to people, to texts, and to myself in my head.

Days 1 and 2 were full of conversations I needed to have and how to best go about directing them. I also thought a lot about work and things on my to-do list. How crazy that it took me 2 days to switch off and be fully present at the moment.

Then days 3 and 4 were much better. Quieter and I stopped having random conversations about work with myself. As I observed myself and my thoughts I found a lot of points that can be improved.

Maybe it is the

fast-paced-always-on lifestyle

that I am living BUT I need to disconnect more often.

I know not everyone had the luxury to switch off from everything for 4 days or even for a few hours. But I saw the impact and the difference it made in my mental state. So I am inviting you to look for 5 minutes or more each day where you can sit and breathe, away from phones and laptops.

Task this week:

  • Set a daily alarm for a 5-minute break and take 5 minutes to do nothing for yourself. (No cleaning, no emails, no phone)

  • Good luck with this one...and let me know if you make it to 7 days.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

10 Sugar Hacks So You Can Eat Whatever You Want! Jessie Inchauspé

A small clip of this was shared by a friend on her social media, which introduced me to Jessie Inchauspé. I then went down the rabbit hole and started watching all the videos. She brings some great perspectives on food and it's backed by science :) Enjoy!

Artists Who Inspire

Artist: Guilherme Licurgo

How amazing is this photographer? I haven't shared any good photography in a while but here I am and I found this amazing creative last week on route to an island. His work is much more beautiful when you see them on his website so please do yourself a favour and click the website button below.

Meet Guilherme Licurgo, an artist from Brazil who captures people, movement, and lines so effortlessly. His photographs remind me of my need to practice salsa more and to focus on lines within the movement.

What do these gems bring out for you?

Song of the week

This entire song is magic! I have been following him for the last 2 weeks and his journey explaining how he created this song and the expansion of using a range of music that is not normally used. It made me think about how many times we take the way things are as fact and don't question or look for expanding space with it. Maybe there are more untapped spaces in the world...if we have the courage to look for them. This week grab your headphones, lie down, and listen to the piano on this song. It's the real gift in this week's issue  ♥️

Before I forget - a big thank you to @0melapics for the Tribal design that inspired this branding.
