๐ŸŒ A Dose of Inspiration - Issue No 4

Hello friends and family!

Ah, it's Feb already. Can you believe it, 11 months to go until 2022!

(haha I know, I will slow down, I am sorry!)

How amazing was January! We learned what

Bravery

and

Joy

mean to us.

  • Did you define what bravery looks like to you?

  • Did you make that list of 25 things that bring you joy?

  • Did you find moments of joy in your week?

I hope you found some joy in your week. For me, I bought rollerblades, went down a hill, and remembered halfway that I can't remember how to stop. Instant fear, joy and excitement.

Oh, before we dive in,

Hello and Welcome

The theme of this week is Mentors.

The idea of mentorship comes from Greek culture and it was a technique to help young men create social, personal, and spiritual values.

This past week I was reminded of a mentor of mine, "Uncle Charlie". He was my drum majorette coach when I was in high school.

Looking back at my life, if you ask me who taught me discipline and drive, it was him. For each competition, we trained in all weather. It didn't matter if it was raining or the sun was shining too much. On a Saturday afternoon, we would be out there from 2-5 pm marching around a field. At competitions even though I could not breathe I would march until the end of the song to make sure we could place in the finals.

Since I travel and move around, I have found a lot of my mentors online. Thankfully Youtube gives me instant access to the minds of people.

For today make a list of all the mentors that you have in life:

  • Do you have one for health? As someone who burnt out a few years back, this is the most important one to have. You need to have someone eating healthy and exercising daily, to remind you that you should too - For me, this is Sadia - from Pick up Limes.

  • Do you have one for your mind? Each time life gets heavy my go-to person is Marcus Aurelius, yes this Roman Emperor born in 121 AD is the person I turn to, to make sense of the madness in the world. (A few pages from his book Meditations and I feel peace)

  • Do you have one for your finance? The person who turned my life around in terms of finance has been Ramit Sethi. (Read his book "I will teach you to be rich", this is one of the best books to change your mind about money, saving, and investing).

If the idea of mentorship is new to you start small.

  1. Pick something you love doing and find the best person doing that.

  2. Watch their videos on youtube, listen to their talks online, and read their books.

  3. Go learn from them!

Finding a mentor is that simple. You can seek out mentors at any age. There is no age limit when it comes to growth and learning.

Sidenote: Please mail me to share your mentors I would love to broaden my collection of mentors.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

Laughter and honestyMeet Keisha and Andrew

I am beaming as I get to introduce these two to you. When I think of a mentor of love and relationships, these two come to mind, and being the month of LOVE...there is no one better than them to inspire us.

I found them on a series called THE AND by a project called

Artists Who Inspire

Artist: Flow so fly

"I am fascinated by the creative challenge to express the beauties and complexities of intimacy in simple lines."

I love that I know so little about this artist. All I know is that this artist is Austrian and captures intimacy so beautifully. I found their work on Instagram and instantly fell in love.

Seeing such simple lines create beautiful artwork, feels like a metaphor for life.

All of our problems seem so complicated, yet the solutions are simple.

Can you feel the sunshine and your heart expand? All you need to do close your eyes and enjoy the song or get up and dance. It's your happy moment, make it into whatever your heart desires.
