🌿 What would you do if you were inspired? Issue 134

šŸ’« A Dose of Inspiration

Hello friends and family.

Another week down and I hope it was a happy one for you. I had a busy week and it will lead to another busy week but it’s all in the plan. More of this is below.

ā™„ļøSending you some extra love if you need it. Life is hard but hope you remember that someone out there loves you when you are at your worst!

The theme of this week is ā€œSystems that run lifeā€

I have spent about 8 years diving into productivity, organization, and systems. This started out as something I needed for work while working at a start-up but I have taken those same concepts and used it for my life.

If you know me well, you know I have a very detailed system to make everything run as best as it can without me ā€œdouble thinkingā€. From bills, finance, fitness, sleep tracking, my to-do list, life goals, and projects. I 100% believe that tracking things is the best way to see spaces to improve. Now this may seem extreme to most but this way of living works for me.

One of the newest ah-ha moments and additions to this system of life is tracking health check-ups. It’s simple but I added a table with info, dates, and reminders for the health checkups I need to do yearly.

Build on Notion. I have these tables/ checklists set up for everything. A simple system but it helps me to remember to do things and has everything planned out so I save time.

The next level of it was to think about when in the year would be the best time to do all these health checks. For me, April and August seemed like the quietest months. No big holidays, travel plans or work things to do. So I can focus on my health fully for 2 weeks.

  • I also added this to my Google calendar as a yearly event from the 1 April - the 13th and 1 August to the 13th.

  • Now I can plan ahead for next year financially to have the money ready for all these checkups.

Your task this week:

  • If this seems appealing to you…take some time and build a table for yourself you can use whatever note app you use or write it down if that works for you.

  • Then definitely add it to your calendar so you have it scheduled.

The most important thing in your life should be your health. We often only realize this when it’s too late. But preventative thinking, systems, and checks can save you a lot more money in the future.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

This is one of the most relatable videos for me. I have made traveling a life and most of it came from the courage to travel instead of the money because there were moments when I didn’t have the finances. This past week I had another message from a friend who over the last 10 years had continued to message me randomly about moving overseas. I have provided all the info, links, advice, and tips and even did a call on how to get there (this was 5 years ago). Yet she has not made the move yet, has not taken the steps, and is still in that same place.

I had a moment of frustration this week with her and I realized that people will only do big things if they have this surge of courage. Because having the knowledge is not enough. You need to be brave to take the first step.

Enjoy this one and I hope it inspires you to find the courage and take the first step for whatever your dream is.

Artists Who Inspire

Nabil Narch

Imagine having an afterthought and it turning into such magic. Meet Nabil Narch, the senior multimedia producer at High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR. I found his pieces while searching for travel tips for Malaysia (even though I live here I am on the constant lookout for gems shared by travelers).

I browsed through all his work online and realized that this fun creative project is far from his main work and is actually something of an afterthought post travels. (Imagine if he just traveled and made these? I would be in heaven at this series and coffee table book).

Very inspired by his creative expressions from his adventures. What do you do with all your travel inspiration from your trips?

Song of the week

This one is pure gold! Something along the lines of Sade …if you enjoy the chilled sultry vocals and laid-back vibes then you will love this one.

I am 5 years late to finding this artist but happy to have her on my radar now.

This week turn it up and enjoy it in your own special way!

Before I forget - a big thank you to @0melapics for the Tribal design that inspired this branding.

Final thoughts:

The internet has all the knowledge to do anything you want. You can take a few weeks and learn something new. You can watch 10 videos on something but very few people take the next steps to apply it to their lives.

This a reminder to notice everything you are watching online. Your attention is the new currency and most of us give it away to random things for free. Time is a finite resource and we share it with social media so freely.
