🌿 What would you do if you were inspired? Issue 142

💫 A Dose of Inspiration

Hello friends and family,

Happy Oct 1st and a very happy birthday to me! I made it to 39 🙂 and a very healed and happy one.

More about these past 2 weeks in upcoming newsletters as I unpack everything but for today I want to inspire you with inspiration from my dear friend Hector.

The theme of this week is “agreements”

Hector and I met in Kuala Lumpur, he is from Colombia and we are very different people. We have different schedules and lead different types of lives but we somehow lived together almost effortlessly for 2 years.

The success of this was what Hector describes as agreements. He has these in his relationships and shared this concept with me. When we moved in together we sat down and made agreements. We discussed how we both wanted to use the 2-bedroom apartment, which times we would need the space, and what we would need it for. We then made agreements on how we would live together.

Then we started living together, with this solid foundation built on agreements. It was very easy to build our lives and move in this space during a pandemic because of this respect for these agreements and each other.

Later on when he went home for a few months and I had some changes in life, we sat down again to renegotiate the agreements and update these.

This is such a useful tool and witnessing it work with a housemate, I see how this can work in a relationship, with parenting, and even more importantly …with yourself.

On Friday I sat down and wrote down a list of new agreements for myself at 39. Since this is a new year with this body, mind, and attitude, I will need a whole new way of living. Lots of things needed to be updated and some new agreements needed to be added to the list.

Here are some of mine:

  • Prioritize healthy and good sleep.

  • No technology times (being offline for these 10 days was heaven and I want to bring that to my regular life, so some days 8 pm - 10 am will be no technology times.)

  • Intermittent fasting - I didn’t think that I would be okay with this one but having an eating window of 12 noon to 6 pm only works great for my energy levels.

  • Calmer days…most of my life has been a bit of a hustle. This ends now. Sustainable working hours and more space to breathe and relax, are what I am aiming for.

Your task this week:

  • Anyway…this is some inspiration from my list. If you feel called to…create a list of agreements for yourself.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

Still no art, music, or quote. But I will be back next week!

Thanks for your love and support with this newsletter! Lots more inspiration coming soon ♥️
