🌿 What would you do if you were inspired? Issue 144

💫 A Dose of Inspiration

Hello friends and family,

Giving you a huge hug if you need it! Take this moment to breathe in a deep breath of air…release it and all the heaviness from your life.

I hope you are safe, warm and well. I have a beautiful issue of balance this week. Hope the tea you made is delicious and these words create some lightness in your soul.

The theme of this week is “duality”

I had a weekend of extreme highs and instant reality checks and lows. I spent a full weekend with 3 best friends, we celebrated early Christmas, and they surprised me with a birthday party mid-event, Halloween the next day, and then Sunday was the post-holiday lunch and game/ movie day. 3 days of fun, laughter, catch-ups, check-ins, and goodbyes.

On the flip side, I watched on social media as people were ordered to flee their homes, I sent texts to friends for strength as they watched their homeland get bombed and had to make sense of this during the fun farewells with 3 people I love..not knowing when I will see them again after I leave Malaysia.

This duality is something strange that I can’t fully capture or understand. I am amazed that we have the brain power to live like this, to move forward, and to make sense of the world around us.

I find it fascinating and worrisome at the same time. But I see the necessity for it in a world of constant chaos.

Your task this week:

  • Take a moment to breathe. Life is heavy and in some moments with no clear solutions, we need to take a few steps back to breathe.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

This past week I have watched the world divide again. For me, I have a perspective that is unique to someone who has friends on both sides and who came from a country that had apartheid, also who spends a lot of time on YouTube watching videos on why the world is in this state and wondering how am I going to explain this to great grandkids in the future.

I hope I can inspire you to do your own research this week. Take some time and understand the conflict from all sides and watch more videos on how we got here and what a solution can be.

As with mental health …the triggers are often rooted in something from “childhood”, …many years prior to this moment.

And with all that is constantly going on in the world, take some time to breathe and ground yourself. The rulers of the world have an agenda that is never for the people, this is the reality. But also you have your life to live, so breathe, ground yourself, and keep moving forward.

Artists Who Inspire

Agnes Hjalmarsson

This is a gem of an artist. I absolutely love the story of how she grew her art career unexpectedly by doing portraits of people who came to the grocery store where she worked and posting those online. She is clearly super talented and this one small way to create and share her work was the key to her making it.

I am excited to explore more ways for artists and creatives to start showing their work and being more visible in the world. November is my freedom month, I resigned and will have client work and my own schedule to build off. More time for new projects and more time to inspire. Stay tuned!

Song of the week

Something calm peaceful and creative for your soul. This week take more time to listen to calm music. Let calm be the natural state to be in.

Final thoughts:

The conflict in the world is heavy, social media is biased, media and news are skewed and it can feel like you need to take a side, do something, say something, do more.

With history, wars, and conflict… these things are decades in the making. It’s complex and run by external factors as well as leaders who don’t want peace. It’s ego-driven spaces. We need to recognize this… educate ourselves and choose peace for a mental state.

Find your peace inside your own body, mind, and soul daily… make this a habit. Not everyone has this privilege and luxury to live the life you have!

“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.”

Mahatma Gandhi
