🌿 What would you do if you were inspired? Issue 145

šŸ’« A Dose of Inspiration

Hello friends and family,

A beautiful hello, I hope your day is good, your meals are comforting and you feel loved!

Taking this week to carve out something really sweet for you and me both. I wrap up life in Malaysia in 10 days and I want to leave with a light, beautiful energy.

The theme of this week is ā€œTimingā€

As I am closing off this chapter, I found a few moments asking myself ā€œWhy didn’t I do this earlier….

  • Why didn’t I start freelancing earlier?

  • Why didn’t I go to Latin America earlier…if you know my love for salsa, this does not add up.

  • Why have I waited for my 39th year of life to tick off this dream?

  • Why have I not volunteered more with education projects?

Then it hit me, I was not ready and this was not the time.

I did not have the right experience, confidence, or understanding. I am stepping into this new chapter with newly aligned goals after spending most of this last decade testing out careers and gaining the experience/ understanding needed to match these dreams.

  • Had I gone to Latin America 10 years ago as planned, I would not have had the experience to working with start-ups and the perspective of a broken education/work system. These two key things are what will help me add more value to the world.

I needed to do the work and take the detour to end up here.

It’s a very human thing to think you are too late or too early for your dreams, to wonder why things have not happened yet, and to feel the emotions that go with it. But we can train ourselves to pause and embrace the journey to getting there.

Your task this week:

  • Think about your dreams for life.

  • Pick one

  • Write down your journey so far.

  • Now congratulate yourself on how far you have come! That’s all …some moments in life, taking stock of your growth is all that is needed to move forward.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

One of my newest finds on YouTube. Creative Minds is beautifully edited and well crafted. If you are on your creative journey, starting a new project or business, this will give you that boost to get moving.

Watch until the end … it’s the wisdom you need.

Artists Who Inspire

Jee Saya

This is one of my favourite finds. Meet Tatpooh by Jee Saya. He is a tattoo artist who took his love for tattoos to a more playful and business side by making these figures.

A pivot on his one income, this is very inspiring for artists to see where else they can shine.

Song of the week

Instant happiness! If you know me, you know Maluma is my most-played artist. I have this man on repeat every morning and Hawaii was on my top list through the pandemic. One artist who got me through COVID! I will forever be grateful to the music and artists who brought moments of dance, connection, and happiness each day.

Can you believe we just survived a pandemic …anyway back to this beautiful Tiny Desk concert.

Dance if you want to, relax if you need it, and enjoy this musical treat!

Final thoughts:

The way to bridge the gaps between you and other people, cultures, and races is to read and experience their lives. If you cannot travel then read, and follow creators who share their daily lives around the world. Follow people who look different from you.

The only way for the world to solve these problems is for people to empathize with each other. If all of us see each other as brothers and sisters/ fellow humans on this shared journey … just walking each other home. Then maybe half of these wars would cease to exist.

Taking a moment to close off with some books to read….

ā€œIf you're reading this...
Congratulations, you're alive.
If that's not something to smile about,
then I don't know what is.ā€
