🌿 What would you do if you were inspired? Issue 146

šŸ’« A Dose of Inspiration

Hello friends and family,

A beautiful and warm hello. Let this be the minute you breathe in this interesting week. I hope your October is ending well and you are filled with a sense of joy.

The theme of this week is ā€œgamificationā€

I am very sure I have covered this in a previous issue but this week it’s back. A lot of people wonder how I can make these big life moves around the world…it’s simple, I gamify everything.

Packing up a life and moving to a new country is a lot of work. It’s time-consuming, it needs planning, focus, dedication, and emotional regulation. This should be a skill that I can add to my resume. Especially after doing it successfully a few times.

Well here is a breakdown of how I scam myself into getting this done and surviving the emotional rollercoaster.

  1. I rename this entire journey to the ā€œamazing raceā€ - sounds cool and it tricks my brain into thinking I am winning something at the end.

  2. I plan out everything that needs to be done and map it out so I have a 2-week buffer - everything will be late and issues will arise, I want to make sure I have time if needed.

  3. I accept the emotional rollercoaster and I know that I need to manage it and my mindset otherwise things won’t get done.

  4. I add moments to sit and do nothing - this one is super important. It’s a balance to do and be…But just doing nothing really helps even out the rushing around.

  5. I don’t accept the tired feeling - this is the only time where I don’t let the ā€œI am tiredā€ stop me from anything.

I would love to host a free workshop on how I travel/ move around the world. Would you attend if I did? Hit reply and let me know

Your task this week:

  • How can you gamify some of your life? What are the big tasks that need to be done?

  • Make a plan, name it something fun, and celebrate each step of the way.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

Heads up…this is not sustainable travel. But I wanted to gift you a bit of the feeling of my current experience. Enjoy this short run-around travel vlog. Hope this inspires you to add in some adventure.

Artists Who Inspire

Dyala Moshtaha

We must not forget. As the world watches one more genocide and people start to continue on with life, we must not forget. Meet Dyala a Palestinian artist who creates this digital art.

ā€œMy work is a reflection of who I am as an individual, and I feel as though it is important to represent those who feel like their voices may not always be heard.ā€

Song of the week

Sharing my packing motivation! This is my new favorite love, a bubble of old-school classics with some Afrobeats vibes. Use it for cleaning the house, clearing up things or just a plain old dance session.

Final thoughts:

… leaving a country that you have made your home for 4 years is hard, especially when you have met some great humans. Another piece of my heart will be here in Kuala Lumpur.

When you think of travel as an expat you see the beautiful new spaces, the fun adventures, and the newness of things. You hear the stories and exciting moments…

But there is another part of it, a sacrifice of those whom you love and have grown to love. The art of leaving good humans behind for a new adventure.

Still working on making meaning with this one…but wanted to share.
