Hello friends and family!
Happy May! Here we are 5 months into the year and issue 17! Hope your week is going well and that life is full of sunshine where you are.
A big
hello and welcome
to the new subscribers. Thank you for joining us on this weekly adventure for a
Dose of Inspiration
and tips to
Create A Life You Love and Go Live It
. This week you are in for a treat!
The theme of this week is a beginner mindset.
More than one word this time but it's the theme of my last week so I thought I would share it with you.
I started learning Spanish again. Not the first time, I have been trying for years... but recently I committed to becoming fluent. This was inspired by my dear friend Edwin.
(Soon to be featured in inspiring people for other reasons)
How many times have you started something new and were filled with anxiety? The anxious dread of having to do something that you suck at?
The older we get the less likely we are to get out of our comfort zone and try something new...but actually, this is when we should because
this is how we grow.
For this week make a list of 5 things that you have always wanted to learn.
Here is my list of recent things:
Speak Spanish fluently
Learn to make pisco sour cocktails like a pro
Rollerblade backwards (I just started going forward)
Illustration (might start this later this year)
Ride a superbike (this is on the list)
When we were young everything was new and we sucked at everything until we practiced and then we mastered it. These steps have not changed.
Would love to hear from you, at the end of the newsletter hit reply and let me know what new skill you are learning.
Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

Can you inspire future generations with a few words?
Yes, you can! Meet Rupi Kaur.
The poet, artist, creator, and change-maker.
Her words cover topics such as rape, periods, family, love, immigrant life, trauma, and healing.
With a following of 4.3 Million on Instagram, it's amazing to see how far she has come from her first poems a few years back.

She openly covers topics that most families keep hidden and is inspiring an entire generation of young women to heal from their traumas.
Here is one of my favourite poems from "The Sun and her Flowers":
“i standon the sacrificesof a million women before methinkingwhat can i doto make this mountain tallerso the women after mecan see farther- legacy”
"The value of art is that it can make the world's pain seem beautiful"
Artists Who Inspire

Artist: Rames Harikrishnasamy
This month I am showcasing artists around me. Let me introduce you to the legend Rames Harikrishnasamy.
He was nominated countless times to me when I ran the Creative Journey events which covered an artist's journey into creativity.
(These will be back after covid ends)
Rames is a self-taught artist who creates these mystical pieces that are actually a movement on their own. It reminded me of the stories and tv show which played on Sundays in South Africa covering Indian folk tales.
It was hard for me to choose 3 of my favorites because there are so many. Go get lost in his work!

Sidenote ...if this little Newsletter is not needed in your 2021, you can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe from this list link at the bottom of this email. No hard feelings :)
Song of the week
A last-minute change up to this week's song cos this gem was sent my way and I had to share it with you. For this clear some space and dance it up like it's New Year's Eve and you are at a club celebrating life! ...oh and stay until the end that last minute of the song is pure gold!
