🌿 What Would You Do If You Were Inspired? Issue 170
💫 A Dose of Inspiration
Hello friends and family,
Happy last weekend of April! How’s your week going? I hope all is well in your little bubble of the universe. I thought I would bring you this issue earlier this week because weekends are for living life especially when you have friends/ family around. I need to write this on a poster for my next apartment so I don’t go down rabbit holes and work on weekends. Anyway……
The theme of this week is “Focus and dopamine”
How’s your focus level? This week has been a strange one for me, I either find myself so spacey that I can’t focus or I am in solid deep focus for 5 hours. During those 5 hours, I am so deep I don’t even hear the outside world. There is no in-between and no switch to turn it on.
Since I am traveling this year and often in constant transition to new spaces I need to keep track of everything and regularly check in with myself to make sure I am grounded, productive, and well-rested.
One of the lessons from long-term travel is that without these 3 keys life seems completely out of control… and we cannot have that!
So I started monitoring my anxiety, transitions to new spaces, mental state, focus, and how/ when I am addicted to social media.
Here are a few findings:
Transitions bring sleepless nights so I need to be more lenient on my wake-up time to make sure I am well rested.
The week before flying somewhere, especially to a new country, my mind is in constant planning and replanning mode, so morning journaling and to-do lists are key. Making sure I can remind myself it’s all sorted out is important.
Social media scrolling is an addiction and my scrolling goes up when I am not grounded. I need to notice every trigger and be aware of how long I spend online. Also the timings of this. 45 mins when I wake up and 30 mins before bed. (Never getting that time back!) Thankfully IG has a timer to tell me to take a break. It’s set to 10mins now.
Now this may seem like work but the payoff is a daily sync to be grounded, get everything done, and be graceful with my rest days thus more space to live this way comfortably.
I write this from a place of travel and transition but I know this might apply to your life too.

I am on move 10ish in my life (across countries, this will be too many to count if I take in all the moves within a city) …and it’s 13 if you count the other 2 countries but those were pit stops, so I don’t add it in.
Each time make this move, I take a hard look at what is working, and not working, what I want to improve, also what I need to update in my life. I get a moment to reinvent a new version of life.
I find this to be one of the most useful things you can do if you feel stuck. Now you don’t need to move to a new country but you can refresh your current life. Enjoy this video.

Final thoughts:
No one gives you a solid handbook to live in this ever-changing world. You need to do the work and figure out everything for yourself. Take this as a gentle sign to figure out something today.
