🌿 What Would You Do If You Were Inspired? Issue 174
💫 A Dose of Inspiration
Hello friends and family,
A small apology for not sending last week’s Dose of Inspiration. I rarely skip a week but last week felt like I needed to. The reality of the world, climate change, and genocide put me in a mood that did not help me be inspired or share inspiration.
And with this reality… life must go on…so here we are back with another DOI and hope to find some good words to share.
The theme of this week is “When the world falls apart…”
I don’t have a solid topic for this week, but I will piece together things to hopefully make sense of the chaos and maybe in this you will find some inspiration… if not my apologies, I am working my way back to this.
How do you find inspiration when the world falls apart? I remember when Damien died, it took me a few months to come back to myself. The one thing that kept me going was a to-do list for 2019. I had a bunch of things written down and when I found the list I committed to focus on it and finish everything on the list.
Rebalancing to me comes down to this basic commitment…
I commit to living life to the fullest.
On Sunday I was irritated with the world, the systems, and the fact that the world allows certain things. It’s not easy to rebalance and I had to remind myself that I committed to inspire people with this project…so it must go on.
But now I feel uneasy … this is not enough. I am a product of a free South Africa. The token for freedom from apartheid is this free life I live where I travel with my green passport, where I am allowed to apply for visas, even though it is a mission sometimes…I am still free to do so.
What am I doing with this freedom….(and that is where I am right now, in mind, soul, and body…constantly thinking about what I am doing with my freedom and what I should be doing)
I have hope that after all of this Palestine will be free and a good number of us travelers will go back to aid and help rebuild these societies. I wish that in this lifetime my friend Oday will get to return to his homeland and walk around with his friends and family. And that someday he will have the freedoms that I have.
Your task this week:
None …I have nothing …Maybe go live life a bit more, because not everyone gets this opportunity.
Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.
🤙🏾 Inspiration Labs
Inspiration Labs is a 1-hour call where we dive into your project, career, life, or big dream. This free session is to gain clarity, dream bigger, and walk out with 1 action step to start moving forward. This is the value I am adding back to the world 💫
I will open new sessions weekly for this. To have this available to everyone, you are allowed 1 session only. (Sorry I wish, I had all the time in the world to only do this but I have to work too)
“All we are is an end product of what came before” ….
This is a little longer than the usual video but it is the one that spoke to me this week, as I rebalance and find the motivation to create, build, and inspire. Most weeks I can run on autopilot but there are times when I am thankful for other voices or the book Meditations to bring me peace when I am off balance.
What brings you peace when the world is falling apart? Hit reply and let me know…
🎨 Artists Who Inspire
Safiya

If last week’s horrific images did not reach you, count yourself one of the lucky ones. It’s not as if this isn’t a daily occurrence somewhere on earth, but seeing multiple images on social media within a short time threw me off balance on Sunday.
I am grateful for social media and the power that society has to convey these realities, we are in an important stage of exposure and change. This was something I studied many years ago, the breaking points of societies before the system falls and changes. The funny thing is that when I was studying this at 18 years old I did not think I would bear witness to it on this scale in my lifetime.
But here we are …anyway meet Safiya, I was searching for a Palestinian artist to share this week and found the image in the middle …
Art has the power to wake up nations …if you choose to look.
🎶 Song of the week
Always been a fan of Macklemore and even more now…pick the most impactful line from this.
“What if you were in Gaza…what if those were your kids”
The same can be said of Congo, Sudan, and all the other places around the world. This system was never built for the masses, it was never designed to ensure that everyone was taken care of, and in 2024, even with the knowledge, technology, and money …solutions have not been created.
The thing that stood out for me on Sunday is that we are still trying to solve problems created in 1948 …
(Fun fact …the book 1984 was written in 1948, and it details everything that we are facing today, have you read it yet? It even states regions of the world that will be in conflict…how is this book still relevant…anyway)
✈️ Travel Inspo
“To travel is to wash your eyes”

This happened within 5 minutes of a strong wind. 15 minutes later the weather was calm. 45 minutes later the sky rained down hail. - Mexico City
Travel to see the effects of climate change! Before I came to this region I was in Asia, where like everywhere, climate change is normalized, as if rising temperatures to extreme levels are normal. Traveling through Mexico has opened my eyes to the reality of this and to the fact that our focus is completely off.
Final thoughts:
We don’t all get to live life in a free way. What are you doing with your one big bold life?
Even if it is helping someone in your immediate community…these small gestures can make a huge difference… for all the big stuff, breathe, use your voice, and find your peace to balance yourself in a world created for instability.
Much love…Pravina
Ecocide and genocide go hand in hand. We cannot normalize the horror of claiming land by destroying it with bombs. I hope violence against ecosystems and communities comes to an end.
