🌱 What would you do if you were inspired? - Issue 89 ⭐

Hello friends and family!

I hope you are having an amazing week. I am in week 89 of this. That means 1 more week before 90 issues of A Dose of Inspiration! 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳 (

basically how I feel about this level of consistency

).

Let's get to it!

Hello and welcome

to the new subscribers. Thank you for joining us on this weekly adventure for a

Dose of Inspiration

and tips to

Create A Life You Love and Go Live It

The theme of this week is "restarting".

Yesterday I logged onto my dance profile and started an advanced dance class online. Within the first 15 minutes, I was frustrated with myself. I had regressed, my arms were lost, my balance was misplaced and my turns were terrible.

But I continued on...I decided to do 2 classes and I must admit I was very unhappy with my dancing, especially since I have a festival coming up in 2 weeks. I stopped practicing and training and then the time extended and now it's been years.

I am sure you can imagine how I feel about this loss of time and effort that I could have put into training and dancing. As I sat reflecting this morning on this decision to not train regularly and wondered why I stopped and what happened...then I caught myself.

How does this solve my current problem?

It doesn't! All I was doing was making myself feel worse about it and then spiraling into self-pity about my unbalanced turns.

What can I do to solve this?

Actually, all I needed to do was to reframe this as a new beginning with dance. Take yesterday as day one.

Day one of a new journey with solid foundational knowledge from before and now create a learning and practice path for myself.

Day 1 and see what I do with the days ahead of me.

We often get so wrapped up in mistakes in the past that we forget ...life lies ahead of us!

  Task this week:

  • What "mistake" do you keep mentally processing that could be restarted to day one?

  • Journal about this...find your peace and then start day one.

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

A Climate of Optimism

This is the talk everyone should listen to. If this is the only thing you watch/ read/ listen to in this issue, I will be extremely happy. Reframing is a key mental model that should be taught in schools.

Also, Patagonia is my favorite company on earth right now ...and I am obsessed with their youtube channel. Nature, extreme activities, bold people...go check it out and subscribe :)

Artists Who Inspire

 Artist: Jerome Kugan

My first art gallery since I got back from Cambodia and I stumbled on the backroom by accident. I had seen the Instagram page but never made the time to go. Then one Saturday I walked through a door and there it was. Literally a back door and small passageway with a tiny art gallery.

HURT NEED UNDO LIVE / RESIST

exhibition from Jerome Kugan was on. I first walked around and observed each piece then went back and read the bios. I was blown away by the backstory of this collection and his journey.

I wish I could beam you all here for his work because my words will not do it justice.

Check out more info

HERE and if you are in KL, part 2 is on now go see it.

This is my favourite piece from the day:

Instagram

Wanna know how I know I am supposed to be writing this newsletter on art? ... Because as I was leaving the gallery a man eating lunch asked me if I enjoyed the art. I said yes and started sharing what stood out. It was then that I realized that he was the artist who created these thought-provoking pieces. Meet Jerome!

I went from dreaming about meeting 1 artist a year to now bumping into them everywhere.

What's that quote about the universe conspiring to make things happen when you want something?

Song of the week

Another week and another musical treat. Adassiya is insanely talented and her song choices are incredible. I listened to this and was blown away by the journey that she takes you on. This is the power of a great DJ. Sit back and enjoy this one...Or get up and dance 🙂. This is now my new focus track at work to get things done.

Before I forget - a big thank you to @0melapics for the Tribal design that inspired this branding.
