Hello friends and family!
Happy Thursday! What a week, not sure if you can feel it too but there is so much good energy around.
(If you can't feel it, take a moment to pause and think of your favourite person in the world. Can you feel it now?)
Let's get going!
Hello and welcome
to the new subscribers. Thank you for joining us on this weekly adventure for a
Dose of Inspiration
and tips to
Create A Life You Love and Go Live It
.
The theme of this week is 'Magic Outside'
Last week a friend challenged me to get outside more. I tend to head to the same coffee shop, same cafe, and same places on the weekend when I am comfortable.
But this routine can end up closing me off to the unpredictable magic of the world ...as I was reminded last weekend when I set off on an adventure.
On Saturday I woke up early, got dressed, and headed out to an art fair and market. Within an hour I met a woman from Morocco, new to KL and we vibed instantly. She has a program for women in tech called
Inspire Her. (Seriously ...a friend match so quickly and on inspiration?)
Then Sunday I did the same thing. Woke up, and headed into town to a new cafe to read. Within 1 hour the guy next to me struck up a conversation and WOW. What a cool person,
, and we spoke about philosophy, life, and travel.
What luck! Another one?
The magic is outside!
That was my takeaway from this past weekend. The world is full of incredible individuals and in order for you to meet them, you need to get out of your comfort zone, move from the usual spots and go try something new.
Your task this week:
Go try something different.
And while you are there say hello to someone new :)
Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.
Everything About You Speaks! Powerful Language of Visual Cues by Kristina Pernfors
As I step into this new year of life, I am thinking more about which version of me needs to lead when I step into a room, especially when it comes to closing a potential partner for work and life. To note, I get underestimated a lot because I look a lot younger than I am and on top of that people don't know the full extent of my experience unless I tell you. Even my LinkedIn sucks for this. (Yes this is on my todo list at some point).
Then when I dress down or am super bubbly and happy, their view of me changes to reduce my worth. This is a fact. I have seen it play out a number of times. I still find it funny that happy people are seen as less serious in the world.
How often do you think about your visual cues?
Artists Who Inspire

Artist: Madeleine Ekeblad
Art that moves you!
That is what I look for each week when I find and share artists and this week I get to share a favourite from a subscriber, Marwah sent me her favorite artist Madeleine who is a painter, among other things.
I was immediately drawn to this woman in the red dress whose life of music seems filled with emotion. In her simplicity, she brings together passion, flow, emotion, and story. I love it!
Go dive into her work and let me know if anything stands out for you.
Click on the links below to check out their work.

Song of the week
Alain Clark is one of my favourite artists and definitely the energy that matches this week! He has that 70s vibe with great lyrics and an amazing band. For this week turn it up, get up and dance and enjoy the good vibes!
Before I forget - a big thank you to @0melapics for the Tribal design that inspired this branding.
If I Did, You Can Too!

This week there is no podcast from Viv to share, mainly because I want to take a moment to bring light to what is happening in Iran. Viv is Iranian and a dear friend of mine. I think it's only fair to use this newsletter to share some of what is happening in her country.
This month saw the avoidable death of Mahsa Amini, a young woman who was beaten by the morality police. Now, the world is full of different ideas, ways of life, and thinking. Which we should respect and take a moment to understand, even if we disagree with it.
BUT
in 2022 to have men policing women's attire, behaviour, and way of life... and on top of this, in the name of religion is ridiculous. This is one instance of many happening around the world. Which is a larger discussion. But for today, I want to bring you some perspective and information on this, especially since the internet has been cut off there.
Awareness if key ...even if you feel far removed.
Thank you for allowing this moment in this week's issue of A Dose of Inspiration. I don't always bring politics to this space as it is a break to inspire you. However, since this is my newsletter I can make exceptions and use this to educate. I am also a product of a revolution in South Africa which gave me my freedom and a passport to travel. Which I hope becomes the outcome and change in this case.
