Hello friends and family!
Happy Friday. My apologies for the lateness with this one, this week was a rollercoaster for me. Glad the government turned Friday into a public holiday, cos I needed it to breathe a bit. How about you? How's your week been?
Before we kick off, a beautiful
hello and welcome
to the new subscribers. Thank you for joining us on this weekly adventure for a
Dose of Inspiration
and tips to
Create A Life You Love and Go Live It
.
The theme of this week is 'Do not disturb'.
This is actually going to be my theme for December. I found this feature again on my phone (had to change my phone so it gave me quality time to relook at how I use this device).
I put myself on "do not disturb" last weekend to pack up my apartment and it was great. No notifications, no messages, no beeping phone. I honestly miss life before I had a phone controlling my every moment.
(Yes I am this old that I remember life before I carried a cell phone around)
Now I am actively using this feature. I get home and immediately put my phone on do not disturb, I get to work and do the same. I have small blocks of the day where notifications are allowed.
I realized a lot of anxiety comes from these notifications which usually are trying to get you to action something. (So basically steal my time...if I am hardcore about the way I think about it....this is what they do, they steal the minutes of my life).
Task this week:
Try out a weekend on "do not disturb"
Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.
How to do laundry when you're depressed - KC Davis
She brings up a very interesting point about care tasks and reframing the way you look at these basic tasks. Also some great perspective on how you view others who struggle with care tasks. Life is not as easy as IG makes it out to be.
Artists Who Inspire

Artist: The Next Most Famous Artist (Hafiiz Karim)
Another gem from the region. Meet Hafiiz Karim, an art director, and artist based in Singapore. He merges scenes from life in Singapore with famous old paintings from around the world.
What I love more than the art itself is that he is bringing new life to these old paintings and educating us on it and Singaporean culture as well.
A big thank you to Janja for this share. I went from hunting for art to art coming to me. The domino effect of one decision to write this newsletter is now my life is constantly surrounded by new art.

Song of the week
If you haven't seen it yet...go see Wakanda Forever. Another great marvel movie and this one brings together Africa with Mexican culture. This song Con La Brisa is one of many from the soundtrack that brought magic last week. It took some time to decide which one to share since the entire soundtrack is gold! While we are on the topic of Wakanda Forever, I found this online. Some insight into the African cultures that inspired Wakanda and an article on the creation of Wakanda by production designer Hannah Beachler. Anyway for this one ...go watch the movie!
Before I forget - a big thank you to @0melapics for the Tribal design that inspired this branding.
