🌿 What Would You Do If You Were Inspired? Issue 194

💫 A Dose of Inspiration

Hello friends and family,

Happy New Year! Sorry, we are kicking off the newsletter later than planned. Not sure about you but this year started with a full to-do list. There are lots of exciting updates coming up in the next few weeks.

💫 For now, DOI events are back, and I just launched my first one on love in Mexico City. If you have ever experienced this curated conversation, you know it’s close to my heart and full of magic. I am happy that I get to do this part of it again.

💫 Also, I have launched Career Coaching (this is a 4-week program to help you get clarity on your path) and Strategy Session (4 hour deep dive, brainstorming and planning session for your business, creative idea or passion project).

Okay, those are the big updates, DM me if you are interested in any of these!

Let’s get to this magic of the first newsletter of 2025.

This week's theme is “The plan”

Over the last decade, I have streamlined my planning for each year, some years are planned and others free-flow but whatever the vibe is, one thing is for sure, I have a theme for the year locked in and I know what I want to improve on.

This year is no different. The plan was made in October and refined in December.

  • The theme of the year is focus!

I have key goals for health and fitness, career and finance, and relationships. These are some of the main categories that I am working on. (Side note I use Lifebook’s 12 categories to organize my life, this structure helps me to carve out main areas to focus on)

These are the 12 categories:

  1. Health and Fitness

  2. Intellectual Life

  3. Emotional Life

  4. Character

  5. Spiritual Life

  6. Love relationship

  7. Parenting

  8. Social life

  9. Financial Life

  10. Career

  11. Quality of life

  12. Life Vision

I added in a few more to cover my hobbies 🙂 Salsa is a big part of my emotional, quality of life, and life vision so having a clear path for this helps me keep everything in balance.

Anyway, back to the plan. One of the biggest ah-ha’s of the last 5 years was that health and fitness need to be the main priority at all times. This category keeps everything together! So I have updated my strategy for this one.

  • I said yes to run a 10km with Jane. Every week I do at least 1 run and increase it a little bit each week. So far I am up to 5km…I started at 4pm on the 1st of Jan.

  • After the run, I do a quick workout with weights and stretching for 30mins and this covers the gym part of life. Also because I am already dressed and in the zone, it makes working out less hard.

  • I am also keeping my regular dance schedule of Tue, Wed and Sat.

  • I am removing boxing for the first quarter of the year to focus on building this running goal and save some money.

  • I usually do 1 hike a year (not a fan of hiking) but I am moving this to 3 hikes. Let’s see how this goes.

For me this is manageable. I don’t like to run but building a walking goal last year helped me to see that every fitness goal is achievable if you start small.

I started 2024 by trying to walk 5000 steps. Then by December, I was averaging 30,000 steps on a Saturday without feeling it. This is progress. Start small and build it incrementally. So I am using this same process for the goal of running a 10km.

Your task this week:

  • Take a moment to see what goal you would like to work on this year and what your process of achieving it can be.

  • If you are stuck…you can always book an Inspiration Lab session with me…it’s free 🙂

Remember each week, we are just moving one tiny step forward to creating a life you love.

🤙🏾 Inspiration Labs

Inspiration Labs is a 1-hour call where we dive into your project, career, life, or big dream. This free session is to gain clarity, dream bigger, and walk out with 1 action step to start moving forward. This is the value I am adding back to the world 💫

I will open new sessions weekly for this. To have this available to everyone, you are allowed 1 session only. (Sorry I wish, I had all the time in the world to only do this but I have to work too)

🤙🏾 Inspired by …

Kicking off the year with financial inspiration. As the world takes a left turn into chaos this year, remember to focus on what you can grow, control, and manage. Tiffany is a great inspiration for anyone looking to build financial wealth and stability. Go read her book!

🎨 Artists Who Inspire

Abhay Sehgal

Abhay Sehgal

Do it for the culture! This year I will try and search for those holding onto their culture. As the world changes into AI and is affected by those with access minorities will be the ones left behind or maybe the story told again through the lens of others.

I have been following Abhay for a while now and I love his fusion of patterns. I see the world changing. I see Indigenous kids standing up, being loud, and questioning everything. I see artists leveling the field by questioning their place and exposure, and wondering why they don’t have the same position as others. We at a pivotal point in history and I am genuinely concerned and curious about the future.

Anyway take a moment to dive into his work and check out his prints here.

🎶 Song of the week

How about we run with the unknowns of the world of music this year! All the new artists, the ones disrupting and new to the scene. I love this trio from Mexico City. Enjoy!

Final thoughts:

Every year, we need to reset our energy and ground ourselves so we don't get caught up in the chaos. We also need to build the internal resources and strength to push forward on our path, goals, and values in the world. I hope you take some time to stock up on all the good things that fuel your soul.

This year will be a rollercoaster for sure, and we should be prepared! Looking forward to building Dose of Insp and sharing more here. Thanks again for joining me on this adventure.
