Hello friends and family,

I hope you are well and I am sending you the biggest virtual hug. This issue is a week late but for good reason. I got to see Lenny Kravitz live again. Not much to many people but to me it’s the recalibration for my drumming dreams and the motivation I need to continue.

Anyway here we are almost at the end of the 3rd Month of the year. And actually the 1st Day of the new year acording to the Persian Calendar. I love people who introduce me to other versions of reality. Like timeline and ideas.

How open minded are you? Or better question, how open minded do you think you are?

I think we all like to believe that we are open to other ideas until we get that one piece of someone else’s reality that causes us to flinch.

For me it’s politics, priviledge and human rights, what about you? …(oh and colonization - mostly on those who refuse to admit the structures that still stand today because of it)

Anyway pretty hard lines on these things. I believe people should all have access to basic things that cover their needs and that borders are just lines on a map drawn by someone long time ago..made up structures that we need to follow …and some of use need to pay $1000’s for visas to cross these made my border lines. But let me go back to the point.

How open are you to sit in a conversation with those who’s opinions on the world are vastly different, and yet still curious enough to learn how they got there and respect that it’s valid?

(For me it’s a work in progress. But like most things it takes awareness, kindness and deep humbling of the ego)

Searching for inspiration this week and I found this artist. I was inspired by his project that turned guns into shovels which were then used to plant trees. Pedro Reyers is in Mexico and I am tempted to reach out and see if we can have coffee. Ah let’s see where I take that idea …but for now enjoy this artist chat about his work and inspiration.
